# Notifications

> Which in-app notifications trackagoat sends, who gets them, and how to use the notification bell.

## Overview

trackagoat sends **in-app notifications** for key events. Notifications appear in the notification bell (🔔) in the top navigation bar.

## Notification types

| Notification | Who gets it | When it fires |
|--------------|-------------|---------------|
| **Invitation received** | The person invited | Someone invites you to join an org. Accept or decline from the notification. |
| **Invitation expired** | The person who sent the invite | An invitation you sent expired before it was accepted. |
| **Scraping paused** | Org admins | An account was auto-disabled after 5 consecutive update failures. Opens the auto-disabled creators page. |
| **Account went private** | Org admins | A tracked account switched to private, so its posts can no longer be tracked. |
| **Account is public again** | Org admins | A private account reopened and tracking resumed. |
| **Comment flags** | Org admins | Weekly, on Mondays, on paid plans: comments collected that week that ask whether a post is an ad or use words like scam or unsafe (up to three quoted), and creators whose share of positive comments fell by 20 points or more. One per project, only when there is something to report. Opens the flagged comments in [Comment Insights](https://www.trackagoat.com/docs/guides/comment-insights.md). |

There are no notifications for accepted invitations or plan limits. When you reach a plan limit, the app shows a modal; an org that is over a limit sees a banner on every page (see [Limits](https://www.trackagoat.com/docs/guides/limits.md)).

## The notification bell

The bell icon shows an unread count badge. Click it to open the notification panel, where you can:

- Read notification details
- Click through to the relevant page
- Mark all as read

## Invitations

When you're invited to join an org, you'll receive:
1. An email with an invite link (if email is configured)
2. An in-app notification if you're already logged in

The invitation link takes you to an accept/decline page. Accepted invitations immediately grant you access to the org and redirect you to a welcome screen.

> **Note:**
>
> Invitations expire after a set period. If a link has expired, ask the org admin to re-send the invitation from **Org settings → Members → Invitations**.
