Tags
Label creators, campaigns, accounts and videos with your own tags, then filter any list by them or tag many items at once.
Tags are labels you make up and put on creators, campaigns, accounts and videos. Use them for anything trackagoat doesn't track on its own: who's on a paid deal, which creators are in a launch, which videos are sponsored, which accounts are a creator's backup.
Say you're running a Q4 launch. You tag the creators in it Q4 launch, and the ones you pay Paid. You tag their sponsored posts Sponsored. Now the Creators list filtered to Q4 launch and Paid shows exactly the paid launch creators, and the Videos list filtered to Sponsored shows every sponsored post, across every account.
How tags work#
Your organization keeps one list of tags for each kind of item. Creator tags are only offered for creators, video tags only for videos, and the same for campaigns and accounts. So a Paid tag on creators and a Paid tag on videos are two separate tags.
There's nothing to set up first. Type a new name and it becomes a tag. The next time anyone in your organization tags a creator, every creator tag is offered as an option, so the team ends up using the same names.
Tags are not the same as:
- Tracking hashtags on an account in hashtag mode, which decide which posts get tracked. See Creators and accounts.
- Hashtags in a video's caption, which come from the platform.
- Tags on Knowledge entries, which agents use to sort what they've learned. See Knowledge.
Add tags#
Every creator, campaign, account and video page has a Tags row under the page header.
- Click Add tag.
- Type to filter your organization's tags for that kind of item, and pick one.
- To make a new tag, type its name and press Enter (or pick Create tag "Q4 launch").
When something you type matches an existing tag, that tag is listed first and Enter picks it, so the team keeps using the same names. Pick Create tag if you really mean a new one.
Tags show as colored badges. Click the x on a badge to take that tag off. Taking a tag off one item doesn't delete it: it stays in your organization's list.
Filter a list by tag#
The Creators, Campaigns, Accounts and Videos lists have a Tags column, and each list's toolbar has a Tags filter.
- Open the Tags filter and pick one or more tags.
- Choose Any of these to see items with at least one of them, or All of these to see only items with every one.
With the launch example, Q4 launch and Paid with All of these lists the paid launch creators. With Any of these, it lists every creator who's in the launch or paid (or both).
Tag many items at once#
On the Creators, Accounts and Videos lists:
- Select the rows you want.
- Click Tags in the bulk action bar.
- Pick or type the tags, then choose to add them to every selected row or remove them from every selected row.
Adding keeps each row's other tags. Rows that already have a tag are left as they are.
Names and limits#
- Names are 1 to 40 characters. Spaces at the start and end are dropped, and a run of spaces becomes one space.
- Names can't contain commas, and can't look like an id.
- Names match without regard to case: "VIP", "vip" and "Vip" are one tag. The tag keeps the casing it was first typed with.
- Each tag has a color: gray (the default), blue, green, orange, purple, pink, red or yellow.
| Limit | Value |
|---|---|
| Tags on one creator, campaign, account or video | 20 |
| Tags per kind of item in one organization | 500 |
| Tags in one list filter | 20 |
| Items in one bulk change | 500 |
At 500 tags for one kind of item, new names are refused until an org admin merges or deletes some.
Removed items#
Removed creators and accounts, and videos you've excluded, keep their tags, so the tags are back if the item is restored. They don't count toward a tag's usage count in the meantime. Deleting a campaign removes its tags with it.
Manage tags#
Org admins manage the tag lists under Org settings → Tags. It lists every tag by kind of item, with how many items use each one. From there you can:
- Rename a tag. The new name shows everywhere the tag is used.
- Change its color.
- Merge tags. Choose Merge into… on a duplicate and pick the tag to keep: everything that had the duplicate gets the kept tag, and the duplicate is deleted. Use this to clean up near-duplicates like "vip" and "vips". Tags can only be merged with tags for the same kind of item.
- Delete a tag. It's removed from every item that has it. This can't be undone.
Renaming a tag to a name another tag already uses isn't allowed: merge the two instead. Org admins also see a Manage tags link in the Tags filter on each list.
Who can do what#
| Action | Who |
|---|---|
| See tags and filter by them | Everyone in the organization, and agents with the read scope |
| Add and remove tags, and create tags by typing a new name | Every member; agents need Make changes (the write scope) |
| Rename, recolor, merge and delete tags | Org admins |
With an agent#
Agents connected over MCP can list your tags, tag and untag anything, tag up to 500 items in one call, and filter list_creators, list_campaigns, list_accounts and list_videos by tag. Try asking: "Tag every creator in the Q4 launch campaign with Q4 launch." The agent checks your existing tags first and reuses them, so you don't end up with "Q4 launch" and "q4-launch" side by side.
Everything is also in the REST API. See the Tags API reference.
