What's tracked

Add a YouTube account (channel) to any creator and Trackagoat tracks its videos:

  • Views, likes, and comments per video
  • Subscribers, total channel views, and video count for the channel
  • Automatic discovery of new uploads on the same tiered schedule as TikTok
  • Comments and sentiment

YouTube data comes from YouTube's official API, so it's reliable and fast — no scraping fragility.

Shorts vs. regular videos

Trackagoat tracks all of a channel's uploads and flags Shorts automatically (videos three minutes or shorter). If you paste a /shorts/ URL, it's always treated as a Short regardless of length.

Adding a YouTube account

On a creator, click Add account and paste any of:

  • A handle — @handle
  • A channel URL — https://www.youtube.com/@handle or https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC…

To track a specific video, paste its URL on the Videos page:

  • Short — https://www.youtube.com/shorts/{id}
  • Video — https://www.youtube.com/watch?v={id} or https://youtu.be/{id}

Caveats

  • No following/share/save counts. YouTube exposes subscribers and views, not "following" or per-video shares/saves — those show as unavailable.
  • Hidden counts. When a channel hides subscriber counts or a video hides likes, Trackagoat keeps the last known value rather than showing zero.
  • Comments disabled. Videos with comments turned off simply return no comments (not an error).
  • Embeds. YouTube Shorts and videos embed inline via the standard player.
