Which one fits.
A spreadsheet is free and does exactly what you build, but someone has to type in every view count. trackagoat fills in the numbers on a schedule, finds every video your creators post, works out payouts from your rules and keeps a record of what you paid. Your coding agent works from the same numbers through the API and MCP server, on every plan.
Pick trackagoat if
- Someone on your team spends hours copying view counts.
- You pay creators on views, posts or goals and work it out by hand.
- You’ve missed a video that should have counted.
- You’d rather ask your coding agent who’s behind this week than scroll through a sheet.
Pick a spreadsheet if
- You have a handful of creators and rarely check their numbers.
- You need a layout or formula no tool has.
- You track platforms other than TikTok and Instagram.
trackagoat and a spreadsheet, feature by feature.

The main differences.
Each one says what trackagoat does and how the same job gets done in a spreadsheet.
Getting the numbers in.
trackagoat checks each account for new videos every 12 hours on paid plans (once a day on Free), and re-checks each video’s stats most often while it’s new.
Every update is saved, so you can see how a video’s views grew, not just where they are today. Every number shows when it was last updated.
A spreadsheet only knows the view counts someone typed in, as of the day they typed them.
Finding every video.
New posts are found on their own. Every 30 days or so, each account’s full history is scanned again, so a video the regular checks missed still gets counted.
If a creator’s account goes private, it’s marked Private and your org admins get a notification.
Someone scrolls each creator’s profile and copies in the videos they find.
Working out payouts.
Say you pay every creator $5 a week, plus $20 when a video passes 1M views. Set that up once as payout structures, and trackagoat adds up what each creator is owed every period.
If a video shows up after a period closes, unpaid amounts are recalculated. Payments you’ve already recorded stay the same.

Formulas you build and keep up to date. A sheet can model any rule you can write a formula for.
Posting goals.
Set a goal like 15 videos a week and see which creators are On Track, Behind Pace or At Risk, while the week is still going.
Goals can count posts, views, engagement or followers gained, daily, weekly or monthly.

A formula you build, with whatever logic and layout you want.
Working with a coding agent.
Connect Claude Code, Codex or another MCP client and ask it who’s behind on posts this week, or have it add 30 creators from a list. It answers from the same numbers you see in the app.
The REST API and hosted MCP server are on every plan, and Free allows 200 requests a day.
More:API and agents
An agent can only work with what someone typed into the sheet, as of the day they typed it.
Getting your data out.
Export creators, videos, campaigns, goals and payouts to CSV, and open them in the spreadsheet you already use.
Or have your coding agent pull exactly what you need through the API.

It’s already a file you can share, copy or open anywhere.
Where a spreadsheet is better.
trackagoat doesn’t do everything. These are the things a spreadsheet does that trackagoat doesn’t, or does more of.
- It’s free, with no limit on creators or rows.
- Any layout, any formula and any column you can think of.
- Any platform, including ones trackagoat doesn’t track.
- Everyone on your team already knows how to use one.
Moving from a spreadsheet.
- Step 1:
Keep your sheet open. You’ll need each creator’s handle or profile link. That’s all trackagoat needs to start tracking them.
- Step 2:
Get started on Free. Free covers 5 accounts and 10 tracked videos, with no card. When you need more, email us the plan you want and we’ll switch your org over.
- Step 3:
Add your creators. Type each creator’s TikTok or Instagram handle, or paste their profile link. Their videos show up and start collecting views, likes and comments.
- Step 4:
Or hand the list to your coding agent. Paste the agent setup prompt into Claude Code, Codex or Cursor and it connects the MCP server. Then give it your list: its add_creators tool adds up to 50 creators at a time.
- Step 5:
Set up campaigns and payouts. Put creators into campaigns, then make a payout structure and assign it. When a period closes, you see what each creator earned.
